Hot Leads

Hot Lead detection flags conversations where a visitor is showing strong buying or sign-up intent, so your sales team can reach out while the interest is fresh.

What counts as a hot lead

The detection looks for signals in the visitor's messages — things like asking about pricing, asking for a demo, comparing options, asking about upgrade paths, or describing a specific use case. The exact scoring is tuned on the server and evolves over time.

A conversation can become a hot lead at any point, not just at the end.

What gets captured

When a lead is marked hot, the following is saved on the Client record:

  • Name, email, phone (whatever the pre-chat form collected)
  • A link to the full conversation
  • The reason the lead was flagged
  • Timestamp

Look under Conversations or Clients inside your project.

Requirements

For hot-lead capture to be useful, you should:

  • Enable at least requireEmail on the pre-chat form (see Widget Configuration). Without contact info there's nobody to hand off.
  • Make sure your KB has enough content about your products that visitors actually can ask a product-intent question.

No replacement for sales

Hot Leads is a heuristic. It points you at conversations worth looking at — it is not a scoring or CRM system and it's not guaranteed to catch every interested visitor. Use it as a triage signal, not as the only signal.
